Hi there,

Really Useful Plugins Update – UUPD 2.0, Tag Manager 2.0, RUP Changelogger & Packing Slips for SureCart

Hi there,

We wanted to send over a general Really Useful Plugins update covering what we’ve been working on recently, what has just launched, and what’s coming next.

There has been a lot happening across the plugin lineup, with major progress on UUPD 2.0, the upcoming Tag Manager for SureCart 2.0 release, continued development on RUP Changelogger, and the release of our new plugin Packing Slips for SureCart.

UUPD 2.0 is moving forward quickly.

The alpha release introduced a major internal rewrite built around a new vendor-aware identity model using vendor + slug. This gives each updater instance a clearer identity and helps prevent collisions when multiple plugins bundle UUPD or when similar slugs would otherwise overlap.

It also introduced vendor-aware cache keys, improved GitHub Releases support, better handling for icons and banners, structured logging, and vendor-aware manual update checks.

Since then, UUPD 2.0 beta has landed and builds on that foundation with a more flexible layered filter resolution system.

You can learn more and follow development over at uupd.uk.

This includes:

  • Global filters via uupd/<filter>
  • Vendor-wide filters via uupd/<filter>/<vendor>
  • Fully scoped filters via uupd/<filter>/<vendor>/<slug>
  • Bulk override support for more advanced update routing
  • Expanded documentation and migration guidance for moving from UUPD 1.4 to 2.0

This is a big step forward for developers managing multiple plugins, private update flows, or more complex deployment environments.

Tag Manager for SureCart 2.0 is nearly here.

As previewed recently, version 2.0 is planned for release around 15 April 2026 and focuses heavily on improving the mapping experience.

Instead of manually entering SureCart Price IDs, the new version introduces a dropdown-based mapping system that allows you to select products and price/version options directly from your SureCart data.

Highlights in Tag Manager 2.0 include:

  • A cleaner and more modern admin page design
  • Dropdown-based product selection
  • Dropdown-based price/version selection
  • Support for mapping all prices for a product with one rule
  • Search and filtering tools for easier mapping management
  • Add Mapping buttons at both the top and bottom of the screen

Please note that because 2.0 moves away from manual text entry and into structured mapping, some existing 1.x mappings may need to be recreated after updating.

We are also already planning Tag Manager for SureCart 2.1.

One of the improvements we are working toward for version 2.1 is adding double opt-in support for signups.

RUP Changelogger is also progressing well.

The current 1.3.0 development cycle has already introduced some substantial improvements.

In the alpha release, RUP Changelogger added:

  • Markdown changelog support with auto, plain, and markdown handling
  • New card and compact display layouts alongside the timeline layout
  • An optional show_summary shortcode setting
  • Expanded parsing for semantic versions and pre-release tags

In alpha.2, development continued with deep linking, additional aliases, improved parsing, CSS improvements, and shortcode tweaks for better backward compatibility.

Beta status has now also been reached, with the release moving toward finalisation.

We have also released Packing Slips for SureCart.

This new plugin makes it easy to email PDF packing slips as part of your SureCart order workflow.

You can check it out here.

It hooks into SureCart, generates a simple PDF packing slip, and sends it as an email attachment — making it especially useful for print workflows and fulfilment setups.

It was designed with services such as PrintNode in mind, but will work with any system that prints email attachments.

Thanks again for supporting Really Useful Plugins.
